The shootings between the three off-duty Westchester County correction officers took place around 11:30 p.m. Friday, at a Yonkers home at 82 Buckingham Road.

On Monday, two of the officers, a man, and a woman, who apparently were dating, remained hospitalized in critical condition, said Yonkers police Detective Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said.

"They are stable, but still in critical condition," he said.

The man was shot five times in the torso, and the woman was shot once in the torso and in the face, Politopoulos said.

The third person involved, the woman's former boyfriend, Edward Quinoy, a 40-year-old resident of Tarrytown, was shot four times, and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, Politopoulos said.

The violence erupted around 11:30 p.m. Friday when Quinoy forced his way into the home through a sliding glass door located in the back, police said. The home is owned by the mother of the unidentified male victim.

The mother, who was in another room, called 911 following the shoot-out. When police arrived on the scene, all three corrections officers were all found on the floor of the home.

Investigators have recovered several handguns from the scene, Politopoulos said.

On Monday, grief counselors were available to employees at the Westchester's Department of Correction. The department is working with peer support, Westchester B.L.U.E., a law enforcement group that helps officers and their families. The group can be reached at 844-978-2583.
